The Consortium of Museums of the Valencian Community and ZEDRE Mural Art and Urban Culture organized the party ‘Journey to the Present’ on 19 May at the Center of Contemporary Culture Carmen, on the occasion of International Museum Day.

“Journey to the Present “is the starting point and the launch party in Valencia of ZEDRE Art Mural Project and Urban Culture.

The Carmen Center will be the permanent location of a large mural by Arttitude Wall (multidisciplinary collective of renowned Valencian artists) together with the intervention of the Renaissance cloister with gigantografía by Solimán López & Lluis Salvador. Valencian companies Pinturas Moltó and Radical Walls sponsored many materials as much of this first mural intervention, and for other initiatives ZEDRE in the city. The opening of ZEDRE is framed more in the activities of the International Museum Day to highlight this emphasis on the need to consider the proposed museum in a wider, breaking barriers between regular exhibition spaces and architecture the city itself.

The festival will feature performances Mini Drops, Valencian group led by Maxwell Moya Wright, creative director of Berklee Valencia; Plan-B one of the busiest DJs in the scene and DJ Finger Valencia, Valencia dj of exquisite taste and common spaces of music’s most interesting city. Accompanying the musical, the event, which seeks to go all ages will be entertained with magic proximity Mag Rubén Aparisi, presentation furniture created for urban interventions by the students of product design and ephemeral architecture of EASD, School of Art and Design in Valencia, as well as collaborations with different cultural groups, such as scanning faces in 4D by Fab Lab at the Polytechnic University of Valencia or the temporary tattoos by Tottoonie Valencia.

Also for children initiative ‘Precious Plastic’ joins the festival presenting his educational project of plastics recycling. With its fun design shredder show the children how simple recycling and the importance of preserving the environment. And to round holiday, Closca , Valencian innovative brand bicycle helmets, start their collaboration with ZEDRE providing two Closca Fuga  helmets for the winners in situ to the most voted photo of the event through Instagram.
