More than 40 Portuguese travel agents, tour operators and travel bloggers participated this morning in Lisbon in the workshop session promoted by the Provincial Tourist Board and the Alicante City Council. The aim of this activity was to publicize and promote in the neighbouring country the tourist offer of the Costa Blanca on the occasion of the start-up, from June 10th, of the new Lisbon-Alicante air route by the TAP Airline, who has also attended this working meeting.
The vice president and deputy of Tourism Promotion, Eduardo Dolón, highlighted after the meeting, which has been supported by the Spanish Tourism Office in Portugal, that this new connection, with daily frequency and an offer of 26,000 seats from June to December , will generate an economic impact in the province of 9.1 million euros in 2017.
“The professional contacts that we have made today are very important and I have no doubt that they are the beginning of a relationship that will gradually be reinforced, on the one hand, thanks to the new air connection that will connect the Costa Blanca with Lisbon and, on the other hand, thanks to the intense work of promotion that we are developing together with the Alicante City Council and the Fogueres’ Federation. “, highlighted Dolón.
During the workshop there was a presentation of the destination of both the province and the city of Alicante, in the latter case by its tourism councillor, Eva Montesinos. The Costa Blanca Board has also launched a contest aimed at those attending this work meeting whose prize is a trip to Alicante to enjoy next June of the festivities of the Bonfires of San Juan.
And this meeting is also part of the operation ‘Lisbocante’ organized by the Diputación and the Alicante City Council together with the Federation of the Fogueres de Sant Joan and which is being held in the Portuguese country these days in order to spread the cultural and festive richness of this celebration. This proposal includes several actions of street marketing as parades or “la plantá” of the eight meters bonfire that from yesterday it appears in the center of the town, in Praça Dom Pedro IV, point in which also has been enabled a temporary Tourism Office to inform passers-by about this and other popular celebrations of the province.
“We want to spread in a such relevant market for the Costa Blanca as the Portuguese the richness of our land, its customs and traditions, its gastronomy, its nature and all those attractions that make us a unique destination”, said the deputy.
Also this afternoon will be a reception of authorities in the City Hall of Lisbon, which has offered all their collaboration for the development of the proposal and, later, will be held a welcome act to attend all candidates to Bellea del Foc 2017 .
On the occasion of this trip, the Provincial Tourist Board has activated a contest through the #Lisboalicatinos hastag for those who upload photos of the activity to their social networks, whose prize also inlcudes a stay in Alicante during “Las Hogueras” , and an intense campaign in media, advertising media and social networks is being developed.
