València Cuina Oberta starts its special summer edition "with the maximum guarantees of safety" for diners despite the coronavirus. Chefs from València and other parts of the province come together to offer creations based on local and seasonal produce.
The menus, created especially for the occasion, start at 24 euros for lunch and 32 euros for dinner, with a supplement of 15 euros at gourmet restaurants with Michelin star or Bib Gourmand rating or Repsol suns.
This is more than ever an opportunity to sample gastronomy and support restaurants. But it is also an excuse to return to travel, visit and be surprised by unknown areas of the city and combine it with plans in other corners of Valencia, said the Councilor for Tourism, Emiliano García, in the presentation.
On the festival website you can consult the dishes and make reservations, although there are already more than 4.200 closed. This year it once again claims a sustainable gastronomy based on the native product, kilometer zero and seasonal.
In collaboration with the seed bank of the Ministry of Rural Development, Visit València will award the best menu 'Modo València ON' for the restaurant that best uses traditional varieties of agricultural interest in its menus.
It will be outside Valencia for the first time
It is the first time that establishments from other towns in the province of Valencia join the initiative, thanks to the collaboration of València Turisme. They are seven: Levante de Benisanó, The Cuina of Ontinyent, Le Fou de Sagunto, The Taula of Llíria, La Vaca Gastrotapas de Riba-Roja de Turia and Eliana Albiach and the Corner of the Lighthouse Cullera. All establishments comply with current safety regulations.
The list is completed by the premises of València city: 2 stations, To your liking, Al tun tun, Alejandro del Toro, Ampar (Hotel Hospes), Balandret, Bodega Casa Montaña, Ca Duart, Canalla Bistro, Taqueria la Llorona, Ciro, Contrapunto , Crudo Bar, El Poblet, Esencia, Farcit, Habitual, Kaymus, L'Estibador, La Bodeguita de María, La Cábila, La Marítima, La Mozaira, La Sucursal, La Terracita (Hotel SH Valencia Palace), Le Marquis (Hotel SH English), Leixuri, Levante, Lienzo, Llisa Negra, Lotelito, Marina Beach, Mascaraque, Momiji, Mood Food, Eight and a half, Palace Fesol, Panorama, Portolito, Quina, Saiti, Shija, Sucar, Tridente (Hotel Neptuno), Valen & Cia , Vertical and Vlue Arriving.

Trip to Bilbao
Participants from Cuina Oberta can win a trip for two to Bilbao, sponsored by Vueling, and a box of El Miracle cava brut from Vicente Gandía, Cuina Oberta's official winery. To achieve this they only have to share photos of the event on social networks with the tags '#ConcursoCuina' and '# CuinaOberta22'.
The trip will include a direct flight, three nights of accommodation, a guided tour of the old town and another to get to know the Txacoli better, courtesy of Bilbao Bizkaia. Bodegas Vicente Gandía, collaborator of the event, will also offer a glass of cava brut El Miracle to the first hundred attendees at each restaurant. Its Bobal Blanco y Negro, Nebla and Fusta Blanc wines will be recommended to pair the menus of this gastronomic week.
