On Wednesday May 3, different crosses made with natural and fresh flowers, dried flowers, plants, stones and light decorate Valencia during spring. Every year, these crosses are designed by different associations, parishes, festive commissions and entities of all kinds that celebrate this traditional festival.

The May Crosses in Valencia have their origin in the Middle Ages, when they commemorated the discovery of the cross of Jesus Christ by St. Helena, mother of the Emperor Constantine. This traditional fetsival worships the fertility of the earth and exalts love.
