XXIX Alfàs del Pi Cinema Festival

As in previous editions, there are communities that stand out with an important presence of short films in the festival, among them Madrid, Catalonia, Basque Country, Valencian Community and Canary Islands. This year has also detected the presence of many co-productions between Spain and other European countries.

A committee made up of audiovisual and narrative professionals has since February immersed in the viewing of the 1,230 short films presented, to determine before June 10 the twenty titles that will participate in the official section and those that will be projected in the different sections out of competition.
This is one of the national contests of short films that greater amount in prizes destina to its competitive section, thanks to the patronage of Gas Natural Blinds. The Festival awards a first prize, endowed with 5,000 euros and Faro de Plata, a second prize of 2,500 euros and a third prize of 1,250 euros, in addition to the Audience Prize of 500 euros. Awards are also given to the best actor, actress, screenplay, direction and photography.
 
Likewise, the winner of the contest can attend the Goya Awards, as the Festival has been selected by the Academy of the Arts and Cinematographic Sciences of Spain to make the pre-selection of candidates.
The 29th Alfàs del Pi Cinema Festival will be held from 7 to 16 July. A contest that has as main mission the promotion of the cinema realized in Spain and, especially, of the Spanish short films.
